Early Riser?
Start the day off joining more than one thousand swimmers for the Great Australia Day Swim in Sydney Harbour. It’s free to enter and you can choose between a 650m, 1.4km or 2.5km swim.
If swimming isn’t your thing, begin your Australia Day by celebrating the world’s oldest surviving culture with a special performance by Indigenous dancers and singers at Barangaroo. During the performance Aboriginal and Australian flags will be raised on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
 
Fire up the BBQ!
Post swim, pack an esky and rug and head to your favourite location. Pick up your barbequing essentials from IGA Romeo’s Food Hall (access from level 6), whether it’s surf or turf you’re after you’ll find a selection of Australian beef, pork and lamb from the premium meats fridge and seafood section. 
It’s not a barbeque without salad! For fuss free option, SumoSalad (level 6) offers a broad range delicious salad catering platters. Choose between Sesame Crumbed Chicken with Lentils & Honey Mustard Dressing, Roasted Beets, Carrots & Lentil or Lentil & Tabbouleh salad with zesty lemon dressing.
 
Sweet tooth? From the humble lamington to the deliciously impressive Pavlova topped with strawberries, blueberries and finished with passionfruit pulp, visit Alexander’s Patisserie (level 6), to find Australia’s legendary dessert icons.
 
Go Out With a Bang!
Darling Harbour’s Australia Day celebration will light the sky with a spectacular fireworks display. Live music and entertainment kicks off from 6pm. Arrive early to ensure you get a prime viewing position!
