It’s high time for season-swapping as we daydream ahead to the latest in SS19 trends in time for warmer days (and nights!)
This season, it’s welcome aboard! With the last of the chill almost behind us, it’s time to dust off the grey knits and grab your fashion passport – the French Riviera beckons as European resort wear arrives.
With fashion core to the fabric of MLC Centre, we spoke with leading names Carl Kapp
to draw back the curtains on all things Spring/Summer 2019 and what we can expect to see populate the catwalks and stores this season. You guessed it, sun-seekers will be elated as descriptions of ‘Florence’, ‘Tuscany’ and ‘Positano’ dominated the new arrivals.
What you’ll find on-board this season
While our warmer months conflict with the European summer, we will surely compensate in the garment department with a season of light-weight, natural-fibred clothing. First in, Ignazia has welcomed the new season arrivals with the Mela Purdie Positano Stripe
– a nod to European resort and cruise styling. The showcase features a standout, timeless stripe motif in crisp white and navy, with halo pieces including the Tuscan Shirt, Florence Dress, Stripe Crop Pant and Tie Skirt.
Fashion heavyweight Carl Kapp
says we can expect light colours of linen, cottons and satin drape to feature this season, with the European undertone expanding to fun, fresh, luxury resort styles.
Our Insider Tip?

How to perfect the European Lifestyle (or at least wardrobe!)
While the sands of Nice are miles away, every Australian designer from Kym Ellery to Alex Perry has joined the ranks of designers to create bespoke resort and cruise collections. (After all, you never know when you’ll be lounging in San Sebastian, right?).
Ignazia says with a few tips and tricks, the style is easy to master. The designer says the key is to pair crisp white and navy, opting for fresh, light-weight and linen textures. Your season’s signature? Ignazia says the stripe is here to stay and a timeless way of updating your wardrobe as we head into the summer season.
No European look is complete without a great day bag, signature hat and stylish pair of flats. Last season we saw metallics and tans dominate the stores, with oversized straw bags and chic oversized clutches proving popular. Take a peek in store this season and embrace the lifestyle!
